Open Sonic is an open source platformer featuring two playable "zones" divided into three levels each, three characters from Sonic universe (Sonic, Knuckles and Tails) and cooperative play (but limited to one activity only). While current version of the project is only 0.1.4 it is the last one named "Open Sonic". Next version, called Open Surge, will be 0.2.0 and will be completely original game, albeit using identical gameplay mechanism. The goal in each regular level (both zones contain boss level) is to reach the destination with at least one of the three characters, collecting rings and killing enemies in the process. There's no save function, but due to relative shortness and low difficulty game can be finished in one sit. There is also an in-built editor and tens of fanmade levels are available from project's page. Game has been translated to nine languages so far.
