by David J. Eastman & Shahid Ahmad

Developed by David J. Eastman (Programming), Shahid Ahmad (Graphics & Sound) Description The game is set in 1997. The Prime Minister of Israel has just been assassinated, leaving the player to run the country as the new Prime Minister. The player's objective is to cause the defeat of the neighboring four states, either by invasion (not necessarily by Israel, as the other states can and do invade each other) or political destabilization. Each game turn represents one month in real time. On each turn, the player decides what diplomatic, espionage and military actions to take with regard to the other countries in the game, and then ends the turn. The game engine then runs and the results of the turn occur (each turn begins in fact with some information about what has occurred in the previous turn being presented as a screen of newspaper headlines). Permission to distribute David J. Eastman gave the uploader permission to distribute the game. Also For Amiga, Atari ST Published by Virgin Mastertronic International, Inc. Released 1990 Genre Simulation, Strategy/Tactics Pacing Turn-based Gameplay Managerial / Business Simulation Description Conflict is a political/strategy simulator, inspired by a prediction of how events in the Middle East could unfold in the 1990s. In this 1997, the Israeli prime minister dies (either by assassination or by bomb blast), and you're appointed as the new prime minister. In the game you have to make and follow political policies regarding other countries in the Middle East, control intelligence and purchase arms, try to beat the other countries in the nuclear race and keep peace with the Palestinians and, of course, conduct battles with other countries.
