Sony Vaio VGN-UX180P Recovery Media (['2006', '2009'])

by Sony

Screenshot

Sony Vaio VGN-UX180P recovery media. These discs did not ship with the system. They were a special order "accessory" which makes them pretty rare. (as such the personally identifiable order information on the front of the case has been censored) The machine came with the standard recovery partition on the hard drive that was rendered useless if the delicate 1.8" toshiba "ipod" hard drive decided to die. Some users have reported that the official sony optical drive accessory is required to use these discs. Others say that certain cd-rom drives can be used. You may also be able to transfer the images to a bootable flash drive using rufus however I have not tried. Please report your successes and failures.
